Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

  1. Yep! Warrick County Schools do not have PE teachers in the elementary schools! Isn't that crazy? I taught it last 8 weeks to the first grade too! I'm doing parachutes first this time!

  2. WOW that is so crazy! I haven't had a PE class or anything since high school, but I think I have to take a PE and Art class next Fall before student teaching. It's just really sad that schools don't have PE teachers, at least they still get PE time. The kids sure do need it.

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Valentine's Weekend

Zach and I seemed to stretch out Valentine's day for the whole weekend! On Friday night we had pizza ordered in (pineapple and mushroom, my FAVORITE, Thanks honey!) Then on Saturday, Zach took me to downtown Henderson to Memories, a little antique shop, and bought me a McGuffey reader to add to my collection! After that, we went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond in Evansville and Zach bought me a back massage machine that goes in the chair! It does shiatsu massage and feel wonderful! He jokes that now he won't ever have to give me massages anymore, but that's not true! Then we went back to his house, and he opened his present from me, a balance thing that measures reloading stuff for guns! As you can guess, I don't exactly know what it is, I just said, "Pick something out unless you want some new polos." Motivates him every time! Today after church and lunch at Mama Joyce's we rushed to the west side of Evansville and went to the movies! We saw "When ...

Ten on Thursday

1. This week on Tuesday Elizabeth an I got to go to Cheddar's! The best part was we didn't have to wait because we went so early! 2. I have been sewing a skirt and the last step was to shir the skirt so it would cinch up and be elastic-y. It sounds all well and good until it didn't work! I realized I needed a bigger needle for my machine, so yet another trip to Jo-Anns was needed. Then I got home and I still couldn't get it to work just right. Ugh, I need some help! 3. Poor Zach had to work or be in class every single night this week, which has sucked, since we haven't gotten to see each other much at all. I missed him so much, but thankfully his schedule is better for next week! 4. This week has been so slow! It goes that way sometimes with 4 day weeks, so I am ready for the weekend. 5. Friday was our friend Ryan's birthday, so I went out to eat with he and Kayleigh since Zach was working. 6. Working out is going good and have lost another 3 lbs, whi...
